MEET TWO NEW TEACHERS

Beginning in fall of 2012, there will be two new piano teachers at Debbie's Piano.  Miss EMILY BACH will be teaching on Tuesday evenings.  Emily attends Fox Chapel Area High School. She lives with her parents, younger brother, and black lab. Emily loves music.  When she's not listening to it, she's singing in one of three choirs, playing keyboard at church, or just enjoying her piano at home. Emily also teaches and sings with her preschool class at her church. Emily took piano lessons from Debbie for 11 years.

Mr. NIKOLA TOPICH will be teaching on Thursday evenings.  Nikola has a brother and a sister.  Nikola attends North Allegheny High School.  Nikola is a stellar athlete, playing both basketball and baseball for his school. He is also in the school orchestra, playing cello and sometimes bass violin.  Nikola participates in the Tamburitzans where he plays 3 different instruments and dances, as well. He loves listening to Elton John and Billy Joel. He also loves hanging out with his friends, watching tv, and playing sports (mainly basketball and baseball). Nikola has taken piano lessons from Debbie for 9 years.

BRAVO, STUDENTS!

"Debbie's Piano" students always bring smiles at our PIANO RECITAL. This picture is from May 2012, when over 30 of Debbie's students and friends performed various classical, jazz, modern, folk, and pop pieces, with their hands and/or voices.  We can often be found on the Pittsburgh's North Shore, between Mother's Day and Memorial Day, at the beautifully historic Calvary United Methodist Church.  This is always a night to remember!

MUSIC & NATURE SUMMER CAMPS

Debbie's Music & Nature Summer Camps is in momentary hibernation.  SO SORRY for those of you who signed up this year and then had to make other plans! Debbie is thinking and working on how to bring this back, better than ever!

PIANO LESSONS

Piano Lessons are offered to school-aged children/teens and adults at various times throughout the week. Lessons are 30 minutes long and are held weekly. Debbie accepts beginning or intermediate students. Email Debbie at info@debbiespiano.com for more information.

Every student learns in different ways and at different paces. Debbie adapts her teaching style to accommodate the specific learning patterns of each student. Together, our goals are progress and musical enjoyment. Every student will learn to play and read music.

PRESCHOOL MUSIC CLASSES

Debbie no longer offers Preschool Music Classes, but still feels very strongly that the best age to start music is YOUNG!  Play with your kids, sing with your kids and dance with your kids.  Make music and movement a part of your everyday life.  Email Debbie at info@debbiespiano.com anytime.

Debbie uses mostly MusikGarten music curriculum with elements of Dalcroze Eurhythmics, incorporating use of familiar folk and classical music. MusikGarten is very similar to Kindermusik. We have also used some more modern music in class, such as by They Might Be Giants.  
Any music can work to develop a sense of rhythm and pitch in your child.

TUITION COSTS

Piano Lesson tuition at Brighton Music Center: $78 / month

Piano Lesson tuition at Debbie's home studio: $60 / month

Tuition costs are the same, regardless of the student's attendance. Make-up lessons will be attempted for students who provide sufficient advance notice of absence. Piano Lesson Tuition is due at the beginning of each month.
